It’s that time of year again-planning for the Piney Woods Heritage Festival! This year the 10th annual event will be held Friday and Saturday November 16 and 17, 2012.
Friday runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is a “School Day”.
Saturday runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is our “Public Day”.
This family-friendly, education event will celebrate the early days of the Piney Woods in this 10th annual festival with exhibits and demonstrations of traditional skills such as blacksmithing, quilting, spinning, basket-making, and more.
Friday open to preregistered school groups, $2 per child; free to teachers/chaperones, and bus drivers.
Saturday admission adults $5, children $2.
We are very pleased to announce the return of two wonderful groups of musicians. The Jordan River Band will perform Saturday from 12:30-1:30 and Hazel and The Delta Ramblers will perform from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Both bands will perform in the beautiful Pinecote Pavilion. You can hear Ms. Hazel’s radio show weekly on WWOZ.
We are now taking applications for exhibitor booths. Applications can be emailed to you. Please contact Richelle Stafne at 601-799-2311 ext 101 or email rstafne@ext.msstate.edu. Exhibitor rules can be printed from our November calendar page. Just look under the entry for the Piney Woods Heritage Festival.
Check out our Youtube channel page with 8 Piney Woods Heritage video clips that I took last year.
Below is a slideshow of images that I captured last year during my first Piney Woods Heritage Festival.
You can expect the same or similar exhibitors this year.
The first of November I will post all of the exhibitors we expect to have at our 10th anniversary!
Happy Gardening!
